At the initial state, the thermostat allows the circulation of the coolant within the motor. With the normal operation, the heat contributed by the combustion increases the temperature of the coolant. The thermostat begins to drift water towards the radiator in order to release the heat, optimally regulating the temperature of the engine.
A characteristic that differentiates an automobile is that its structure is more robust to support greater water volumes and vibrations of the engine.
